30 Day torsion

Postby Torsion » Sun Aug 02, 2020 8:31 am

Hi all hope everyone staying safe
I am hoping someone can help me as I have a 30 torsion clock ( I know it’s not a anniversary clock) but it’s same principle hence in this forum.
Anyway I have stripped and cleaned it and I runs fine, but when it is fully wound it gains 30 minutes a day but when it gets to about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks it looses 15 to 20 minutes a day .
Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Dell
I have had that problem before with the escape an escape wheel tooth skipping past the pallets when fully wound and later settling in when some of the power from the spring has been dissipated. If you only wind the spring up about half way and start it does it still run fast at first?
