Numbers stamped on front plate of clock movement?

Postby slattery51 » Sun Dec 23, 2018 9:37 pm

Hi,, just wondering what the numbers stamped on clock movement plates are for?? I have come across and old
Gilbert parlor clock, and it has the numbers 5 1/2 stamped on the front of the plate??? I have always wanted to
find out exactly what they stand for? Pendulum length? etc...not sure?? Help...

Those numbers would be pendulum length.
Have a great day, William
