I recently purchased a 18s Elgin pocket watch that is key wind and set, my problem is i need to replace the minute hand.
I purchased a new set of hands but I’m having difficulty putting the minute hand on it is just a little to small. The square hole in the hand is a little smaller than the square pin on the watch. I don’t have a file that is smaller than 1.5 m square. Any Ideas on where i can get a file that small? Is there another to enlarge the square hole in the hand?

Hi Dan,
You might try Esslinger here in the States or Meadows & Passmore in the UK. Here's a link to some small files at Meadows http://www.m-p.co.uk/muk/parts/tools-files.htm
I have some of the Meadows files and find them to be very high quality.
Another thing you can do is file up and heat treat your own small file. Very easy to do and a fun and useful project.

Hope this helps Dan,
Bob
