Bezel Glass

Hi all,

Its me again. I am working on what I believe to be a rather old Ansonia school house regulator clock that is rather large. The round glass appears to be held in place in the 13" dia. brass bezel by some sort of strange "pucky" for lack of a better term. As it is beginning to crack and fall out due to age, does anyone have an idea of what type of compound this may be? First time I have ever seen this. I would like to replace it if possible.

Thanx

William,

That's kinda what I thought, but I just had not run across such as yet. Was that a fairly common way of holding in the glass on a clock bezel or does it sound like someone's DIY fix? I want to be as accurate as possible when restoring these baby's.
