Passing strike on Gilbert Movement

Postby MartinBevis123 » Mon Jan 01, 2018 11:04 am

Hi

I have just stripped a Gilbert movement for cleaning however I have have come across a problem. The half hour is on a passing strike but this is not happening on the half hour it is on the 25 mins to. Though the hour striking does commence as it should on the hour. Would anyone know how this can be rectified / adjustments made. I have added a couple of pictures if these make my question clearer. :?

Many thanks for any help and Happy New Year.

Martin

Good to see you up here Martin!
If it's striking the hour at the hour and it's striking at 35 mins past the hour then my guess would be that the lifting lever either got bent or slipped on the hammer arbor a little. Might check to see if the lever collet can rotate a bit for adjustment?
Please let me know what you find out Martin and enjoy!
