Swiss PW w/broken case hinge

Postby Hank7421 » Thu Apr 27, 2017 12:50 pm

I have an economy base metal heavily engraved Swiss 17 j PW that has a missing hinge pin. (See pics.) My son really likes this PW and I would like to have this case repaired. Is this something I should attempt myself or should I send it to a case repair company? If so, who would you recommend?

If just the pin, if you can secure some steel rod the same diameter, just cut to length and insert. You can file on the pin a bit if you need to reduce the diameter; file before you cut to length. A slight taper is also good to lock the pin in place.
