Ultrasonic Cleaner Recommendation

What are you wanting to clean??? Watches or clocks. Movements must be torn down to the last nut and bolt to make sure all parts are cleaned. Hey dlgraley I just saw your post, sorry I missed it. I have not used all the different types of ultrasonic cleaners so I cannot give an answer about what is best. I about had a heart attack looking at the larger tank ultrasonic cleaner prices. I found and have used these for about 8 years for clocks . http://www.ebay.com/itm/PROSONIX-2-5-GA ... 43fedd5943 I have 2, both 2.5 gallon, one as a pre-cleaner and the other as a final cleaner. Both have worked very well for me.

Hello all,

I just started watching the videos. I am completely new to this world, but thoroughly interested. I am trying to get an estimate as I go for what I would need to start out with. I want to clean, oil, and do some bushing work right now. The cleaners seem to really vary in price. The Sonix 4 for 1064 and the Prosonic for about 500 (although it seems to be discontinued. I am just trying to see what I should save up for. I think I want two, but am confused regarding the correct size, price, and make to begin saving toward.

I purchased the Sonix4 from Timesavers a few weeks ago at $488. I see the price has already jumped to $568.

Is that the 3.5 quart? and is that big enough for clock movements?

Yes it is the 3.5 quart. Not sure about clocks; I do pocket watches. I'm thinking probably a little small for clocks.

If you are going to do clocks you need at least a 11 quart unit. Here are a couple that work well with clocks.
