Introduction and Benrus 3 star automatics

Postby Joe Austin » Thu Dec 29, 2016 2:22 pm

Hello, what a great forum! I purchased the online Ultra package and am impressed at the information displayed. I have been working on watches for about 6 months. I joined primarily for the lathe tutorials, and clock information. My current project is a Benrus 3 star Automatic. This is the 4th automatic I have worked on, a 25 jewel oddity. The other movements have been Girard Perregaux, and Bulova's. This movement is strange to say the least. Some of the parts are attached via through holes, with no threads. The Cannon Pinion attaches to a tube that is part of the plate. All in all I have never seen a movement like this in my limited experience. Does anyone have experience with these watches?

Thanks,

Joe
