I received a very old clock for repair and restoration. I am not sure to tell its origin, I'm quite sure it's not french - maybe english?
Please see pictures... It had silk thread suspension that someone replaced with a copper wire. Tha rack and snail design I already seen in other old movements, I don't know if it's typical of some place or maker. Anyone can help here?
The dial has remains of silvering and the roman numerals badly hand painted. This is the same plate where the movement is attached,, and the posts rivetings appear, so I don't know if there was a dial infront of this plate and was lost and someone made a dial on the plate of if this plate was originally used as the clock dial. I can silver it and do my best to repaint the numerals - but I don't know how to completely hide the rivets. Any suggestions?
